Nelly 3 wins away from the record- which record really?

Don Nelson, head coach of the Golden State Warriors is only 3 wins away from breaking Lenny Wilkens record for most wins as an NBA head coach. Somehow this doesn’t feel quite right- Don Nelson, has the most wins as an NBA coach. Either this is a testament to his incredible old age, or there should be an extra bit of information added, an asterisk next to his record, for having the most wins without ever winning a championship. How Don must feel I do not know. I suppose winning is winning right? Hopefully Don gets his record, the team is sold, a big man is drafted and the Warriors start playing basketball and stop practicing the fast break for an 82 game season.

Gilbert Arenas Sentenced

Gilbert Arenas receives 30 days in halfway house for having four gun possession in public place. No jail time! I really don’t understand this and now feel very bad for Plaxico Burress, although of course different jurisdictions have different ordinances regarding sentencing and policies, etc. It’s not fair to society to have ‘double standards’. Although I would never wish jail time for anyone, Arenas deserved some sort of jail time for his irresponsible actions. Too often have professional athletes commit serious crimes and don’t pay their debt to society.

Kate Longworth Talks About Her Exclusive Interview with JaMarcus Russell

JaMarcus Russell drives aimlessly while having interview. Many fans have been wanting to watch this video, it’s quite funny I may add. I wonder if there’s a parallel between his ‘driving’ skills and lack of attention to detail to his performance on the field? We shall soon find out!

McNabb in silver and black?

Rumors are continuing to emerge that the Raider along with other teams are interested in Eagles QB Donovan McNabb. According to league sources the Raiders have been making the biggest push to acquire McNabb via trade. Could this be the missing piece the Raiders need? We all know Jamarkass is no good… who, if anyone gets McNabb will get a certified playmaker.

State Of Oakland Raiders: What the Raiders must do before the NFL draft

So I read an article today on bleachereport regarding several options the raiders have and/or should do, these are my thoughts on them. A rumor we’ve all been hearing for a while is a trade for Troy Smith from the Ravens for a 5th round pick. I don’t think this is a serious need but for a 5th it couldn’t hurt to bring in more competition and Smith is pretty damn fast thus able to escape out of the pocket when the O-Line collapses (every play). (2) Trade a Safety: I actually really like what the article had to say regarding our safety situation. Trade Eugene, although I find that very difficult since he’s the worst. lol. I completely agree, and have been saying this for a while now, that our safeties should be Tyvone Branch and Mike Mitchell, the two fierce hard hitting safties with Branch at FS that is. Through Huff in for some plays and play nickel if need be. (3) Add depth to O-Line. This weekend there was alot of Shawn Andrews talk. Andrews never lived up to his draft pick nor contract due to depression and other issues, the Eagles recently released him. Thus, I REALLY want this guy in Oakland, yea yea character issues but simply put, WE NEED depth. And Andrews is one BIG o lineman with great upside if he can get it together. (4) There were some other interesting comments but the one of trading Aso I must decline. I don’t care if this makes sense ‘business’ wise, he is one of the reasons fans keep coming. All around great guy. Also, I truly believe deep down that Aso doesn’t want to leave Oakland. Yup, I said it. Not because he ‘loves’ the raiders, but he loves the Bay Area. Perhaps the niners one day. Although born and raised in LA, he went to CAL and is heavily involved the community. Lastly, once you visit the Bay Area you fall in love with the surroundings. It’s not all about the ‘money’ and I think Aso will live in the Bay Area for the rest of his life. Personally I lived in LA for a few years and the Bay Area is much nicer work-life balance. Oakland Raiders Al Davis… Just Win Baby!!!

The love hate relationship with Al Davis is shared by everyone but at the end of the day Mr. Davis is a legend, mentor, and football genius. I don’t care, I’ll always support Davis. What people fail to remember, mostly because of the younger generations, is the rich history of Davis and the Oakland Raiders. Please refresh your memory of the ‘Glory Days’! Share your thoughts on the direction we must take to be where we once were?
